Spotlight on a Jeweller of Excellence…Michael Jones Jewellers – May 24, 2018
Almost a century of experience on the high street!
Michael Jones Jeweller has been an iconic name on the high street in Northampshire. We hear from their Manager Mark Conway on a bit of history about this traditional Jeweller of Excellence…
Founded in 1919, Michael Jones Jeweller became the first fine jeweller in Britain to become a co-operative.
It was Michael’s selfless vision to hand his business to those who worked within it. When you enter our showrooms you are being served by a co-owner of the business, each of whom understands the role good service plays in nurturing loyal patronage, trust and reputation.
You can find our three showrooms across Northampton and Banbury, or visit us online. Our professional and highly qualified jewellers are here to help. Years of accumulated expertise, extensive links within the trade and belonging to the Jewellers of Excellence group allows us to source exceptional quality pieces at great value. You can find jewellery for every occasion. Portfolio of Fine Diamonds offer exquisite bridal jewellery, and Fope brings timeless Italian style. We stock prestigious Swiss watches including Rolex, Breitling, Omega, Tag Heuer, Longines and Raymond Weil. Together with designer brands such as Gucci, Michael Kors and Armani, there is a watch to suit every taste. We hope to offer a personal service, and are proud that many customers become lifelong friends. Our sales team do not work to commission, and we feel this nurtures a gentler relationship where honesty and expertise are paramount.
High quality, comprehensive service was at the core of Michael’s vision and remains a key tenet of the business today. Customers may already be familiar with our showrooms, but behind the scenes you would find skilled craftspeople and horologists working at their benches. At a glance it is a scene that hasn’t changed in hundreds of years, but look more closely and you will see a combination of age old techniques and the latest technology. You would witness goldsmiths working alternately with hand tools, cutting edge laser welders and creating elaborate models at the CAD station. Our horologists could be found lubricating and regulating finely poised balances in a dust free environment or refinishing a case to exacting standards on a precision lapping machine. Our registered valuers might be seen appraising antique pieces, using their gemological equipment and expertise to identify a gemstone’s identify and provenance. All of this allows us to provide for your every need under one roof.
There has never been a better time to come and see us at Michael Jones Jeweller as we look forward to celebrating our centenary year in 2019.
